We are all engaged in various forms of interpersonal communications on a regular basis. A good portion of the time our communication is effective. But there are times when ‘gaps’ in communication can lead to misunderstandings, inefficiency, and serious problems. Whether in a work setting or in your personal life, communication problems can cause a great deal of frustration and stress. In critical situations they can inhibit your success and/or lead to negative consequences.
This presentation examines what causes gaps in communications and the 10 skills that can help ‘bridge’ those gaps. Attendees will learn their own preferences for certain types of communication and how to detect the preferences of others. Games and team exercises will be used to explore the most common communication obstacles. Understanding these obstacles and employing the skills covered in this session will help you ‘bridge’ communications gaps more effectively in the future.
This presentation is offered in 60 and 90 minute formats.
George also offers a 2 hour interactive workshop on this topic that employs experiential learning and additional content to increase the awareness of how to ‘bridge’ communication gaps.
