Want Better Solutions? Think Differently!

Secondary heading here, to emphasize a point…

Some of the best ideas in history have been the result of approaching things in a non-traditional way. These approaches, sometimes termed ‘non-linear’ or ‘divergent’ thinking can be very helpful in producing new ideas, inventions, and solutions to problems.

Our brains are capable of incredible things and some of the most creative ideas and solutions have been arrived at through ‘different’ thinking methods. By breaking out of standard thought patterns we can unleash more of our creative potential. To prove that these techniques work, this presentation includes exercises demonstrating the effectiveness of a few of these approaches. In addition, George will reveal practical examples that illustrate how tools that promote divergent thinking can help anyone develop innovative solutions.

This presentation received high praise at the HDI Conference held in Orlando, Florida in April 2014 and received the Best Session Award at the SHARE conference in Boston in August 2013.  George authored an article on this subject that was published in Support World magazine in November, 2014.

This presentation is available in a 90 minute format or as a 3 hour solutions development workshop.

Do you have trouble getting your ideas approved? Have you ever had difficulty getting funding for a project? Would you like to be more effective the next time you try to help someone ‘do the right thing’? Whether you need to get approval or are merely trying to help someone, the combination of power and influence tactics learned in this presentation can help you succeed. You’ll also gain insight into why you are often susceptible to the influence attempts of others. This presentation will reveal practical tactics you can put to use immediately.  It also highlights why focusing on positive impacts can augment your power and magnify your ability to get results.

Power and Influence in Negotiation

The use of power and influence plays a major role in the negotiation process, and the ability to negotiate is becoming increasingly important. Would you like to pay less for the next vehicle you buy? Do you wish you could get better service or more favorable treatment in hotels and department stores? Would you like to be more effective in coaching or diplomatic situations?

Everyone possesses several forms of power, and the speaker will identify three sets of tools that can put your power into action: Influence Tactics, Persuasion Triggers, and Negotiation Maneuvers. During the session, examples will be given and specific scenarios will highlight effective techniques for successful negotiation. Whether you are making a ‘deal’ with someone, trying to influence people at work,  or purchasing products for personal use, the information in this session will help you succeed in your next negotiation. This presentation was critically acclaimed at Computerworld’s Storage Networking Conference in Phoenix, Arizona in April 2005 and received the Best Session Award at the SHARE Conference in Anaheim, California in February 2011.
